Wonderful Recap: 2025 Spring International Student Cultural Experience Activity (Part I)

In the Spring Semester of 2025, the International Education Center successfully hosted 27 cultural experience activities, attracting over 200 international students to participate. From culinary workshops to intangible cultural heritage crafts, from martial arts experiences to art appreciation, each event was filled with surprises and gains.

This edition’s highlights focus on: “Savoring Traditional Cuisine” and “A Journey of Cultural Wonders”.

Tasting Traditional Cuisine

The students gathered at Donghua Restaurant, learning to cook Chinese dishes from the chef. With just one bite, they experienced the authentic flavors of Chinese cuisine.

Enjoying a Cultural Journey

No.1 Seal Carving

Can a carving knife really "dance" on stone?

After Teacher Zhu Qiuyi's introduction to this ancient art, students couldn't wait to try -imprinting Chinese culture on their hearts, one seal at a time.

 

No.2 Guzheng

Fingertips gently plucking silk strings, melodies flow like water. Under Teacher Zhu Qiuyi's guidance, even complete beginners created magic.

No.3 Tai Chi

Slow yet steady, soft yet powerful -each movement flows like poetry. After learning the 24 basic forms, students found both calm and vitality.

Learn Chinese through songs? Teacher Cheng Chulan's Cantonese class made language learning fun! Everyone sang along to "likes You" (Beyond's classic), mastering tones through melody.

Sinking into horse stance, throwing precise punches, twisting with controlled power—

Under Master Cheng Chulan's guidance, students discovered the essence of Chinese martial arts: where softness conquers hardness, and every movement contains the wisdom of balance.

Dipping the brush, we learned the art of Chinese characters—where every horizontal stroke grounds, every vertical ascends, each sweeping curve flows like silk.
