During the competition, Huang Jinhui delivered a heartfelt speech in fluent Chinese, sharing her experience of learning the guzheng (a traditional Chinese zither). She recounted how she found cultural resonance in a foreign land and achieved personal growth, then performed Ode to the Red Plum on the guzheng, praising revolutionary martyrs like Sister Jiang for their unwavering spirit, which blooms proudly like red plum blossoms in the snow. Her outstanding performance earned applause and recognition from both the audience and the judges.

Overwhelmed with excitement after winning the award, she said: "This competition has been an unforgettable experience for me. By sharing the stories of the guzheng and Ode to the Red Plum, I have not only gained a deeper understanding of China but also felt the power of China's revolutionary culture. Here, I would like to thank my counselor, Teacher Zhao, for her meticulous guidance on my speech draft, delivery, and body language. I’m also especially grateful to Teacher Qiu Yue from the Shanghai University College of Music—under her long-term patient instruction, I went from knowing nothing about the guzheng to being able to play it proficiently, which fills me with immense pride and joy. Additionally, I’d like to thank the competition organizers for providing this platform, as well as the leaders, teachers, and classmates at Shanghai University’s International Education College for their support and encouragement."

Huang Jinhui’s achievement not only highlights her outstanding personal abilities but also reflects the mutual exchange and appreciation between Chinese and foreign cultures. The red story transcends language and nationality, becoming a spark that connects hearts. Moving forward, may she continue to embody the "red plum" spirit in her life—persisting in academic exploration, building bridges across cultural differences, and shining brightly on the world stage.
