Tongji University recently welcomed 1,260 international students from 129 countries and regions for the 2024 academic year.

This year, Tongji University introduced a paperless admission system for international students, streamlining the process and enhancing efficiency. All admission documents were submitted and processed electronically, reducing paper usage and improving convenience. Students used an online system to submit and confirm documents, eliminating the need for traditional mailing and management.

At the registration site, the International Student Office set up multiple service stations offering one-stop services, including registration, health check-ups, SIM card and bank card issuance, and visa consultations. Teachers and volunteers guided students through the electronic system to help ensure a smooth transition into their studies. Self-service terminals allowed students to check personal information and activate campus cards efficiently.

To help new students adapt to campus life, the International Student Office also launched an upgraded electronic Campus Guidebook. The guide contains practical information on campus facilities, transportation, and living services.
