Sofya Frizen from Russia and Nhu Quynh Nguyen Thi from Vietnam, students at Shanghai International Studies University (SISU), recently participated in the "Shaoxing International University Student Summer Camp" in Zhejiang province. Over the course of one week, they delved into Shaoxing city's rich cultural history and modern development, creating unforgettable memories.

Their journey began with a visit to the Lu Xun Native Place, where they had the opportunity to experience the hometown life of the pivotal literary figure. The two expressed that it felt like they had been transported back in time.

The students then explored the Shaoxing City Exhibition Hall and Cultural Museum, marveling at the city's blend of historical and modern elements. A highlight was their visit to Zhenyuan Tang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, where they learned about traditional practices and experienced pulse diagnostics and cupping therapy.

In Shengzhou, a county-level city in Shaoxing, they discovered Yue Opera at the picturesque Shengzhou Yue Opera Art School. They later visited the Orchid Pavilion, the former residence of calligrapher Wang Xizhi, for a serene calligraphy lesson.

The adventure continued with rock climbing at Keqiao Yangshan Rock Climbing Center, followed by a visit to Anchang Ancient Town, known for its picturesque Jiangnan-style architecture. The camp concluded with an exploration of Chinese martial arts and hanfu (traditional Chinese dress) culture.

The SISU students expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to explore Shaoxing, a city that seamlessly merges tradition and modernity. They appreciated the guidance of their teachers, camp organizers, and volunteers, and eagerly anticipate future visits to continue their cultural exploration.
