ECUST hosts farewell ceremony for international graduates of 2024

East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) celebrated the graduation of its international students with a farewell ceremony on June 25 at its Xuhui Campus in Shanghai. 

The event was attended by nearly 400 participants, including faculty, students, and their families.

At the ceremony, Shen Haitao, deputy Party secretary of ECUST, congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to stay connected to China, bravely pursue their dreams, and contribute to building a community with a shared future.

Professor Zhao Liming, representing the mentors, praised the graduates for overcoming challenges to complete their studies and assured them that ECUST will always be their home. He encouraged them to contribute to global peace and progress.

Eleven students were recognized as Outstanding Graduates for their exceptional performance in academics, research, and social activities. Additionally, 17 students were honored as Outstanding Student Ambassadors for their efforts in promoting international student recruitment. 

As a representative of the graduating class, Mariya Kolo from Kazakhstan delivered a speech, reflecting on her experiences at ECUST. She expressed gratitude for the high-quality education and cultural exchange opportunities provided by the university. She encouraged her fellow students to deepen their understanding of China and share their thoughts and experiences with more people to promote mutual understanding among people from different countries.
