East China Normal University (ECNU) held an inauguration ceremony for the Dishui Lake International Software Engineering Institute in Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area on June 18. 

This institute, a collaboration between ECNU, the Lin-gang Special Area Administrative Committee, and Shanghai Harbour City Development (Group) Co Ltd, is dedicated to cultivating top software talent and addressing core technologies that are crucial for the industry.

The institute's educational approach emphasizes industry-oriented training, problem-solving research, and real-world engineering practices. By transcending disciplinary boundaries, the institute aims to nurture exceptional software professionals with outstanding research and practical capabilities.

Led by Executive Dean Pu Geguang, the institute seeks to meet the strategic demands of industries by focusing on talent cultivation and research. Chu Junhao, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, has been appointed as the chairman of the institute's academic committee. Other committee members include scholars, researchers, and industry leaders that are committed to deepening industry-education integration.

At the inauguration ceremony, ECNU President Qian Xuhong highlighted the institute's role in serving economic and social development. Additionally, the institute's establishment signifies a significant step towards fostering top-tier software talents and advancing core technologies in Lin-gang Special Area.

The event also marked the launch of the Lin-gang Industry-Education Integration Platform for Industrial Software, which aims to empower industrial development by cultivating key software talent and advancing technological breakthroughs. Additionally, the Demonstrative Software College Alliance's Key Software Technology Innovation Platform, initiated by ECNU, was also inaugurated on the same day. This platform is set to showcase software technology achievements and support innovation in the industry.
