On May 7, under the leadership of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics Party secretary, Xu Tao, around 40 Chinese and international students embarked on a visit to the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) for a hands-on session titled "Reflecting on the Belt and Road Initiative's Decade of Transformation and Discussing SUCFE Youth Responsibilities."

At the center, which serves as the venue for the annual China International Import Expo (CIIE), Xu and the students were first introduced to the CIIE Cultural Exhibition Center. This visit left a profound impression on the students, as it vividly showcased the expo's essence, process, highlights, and lasting impacts under the theme "New Era, Shared Future".

Wei Lanyi, a Data Science undergraduate from China, shared, "This visit reinforced my belief in China's efforts to build a connected, mutually prosperous world through tangible actions. International exchanges are crucial for shared development."

"I had heard about the CIIE in my home country before, but this on-site visit allowed me to experience the unique charm of the CIIE firsthand and feel China's openness and determination. I also hope to contribute to the friendly exchanges between Uzbekistan and China," said an undergraduate student majoring in International Economics and Trade from Uzbekistan.

Guided through the center, the group immersed themselves in Chinese culture. "I am delighted to have this practical experience. The center houses many precious artworks, and I have learned in detail the meanings behind each piece, deeply feeling the charm of Chinese culture," said a student from Kyrgyzstan.

After the visit, Xu delivered an engaging lecture, emphasizing the BRI's achievements over a decade and the responsibilities of SUCFE youth. He highlighted the importance of educational openness in fostering global understanding and encouraged students to embrace diverse perspectives and become versatile talents with an international outlook.

The students engaged in deep conversations on cultural exchange, education, and the BRI. Anna from Ukraine cherished the cultural exchange with Chinese peers, while Zhu Shiqi, a Finance student from China, valued the cross-cultural insights gained during the visit.
