Shanghai University recently offered its international students the chance to experience traditional Shanghai alley games, also known as Jiuzi, during the Jiuzi competition of the fourth Shanghai Citizen Sports Meet, which was held at the university's Yanchang Campus.
Jiuzi, derived from traditional alley games, encompasses nine different activities, each with the Chinese suffix "zi". These games are a part of Shanghai's collective memory.
The international students tried their hands at rolling hoops and whipping tops during the Chinese culture experience activity.
