International students from Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) took part in a mobile tree-planting and micro-landscape DIY (do-it-yourself) event to celebrate National Arbor Day on March 12. 

The event, organized by the Quyang Road Community Volunteer Service Center, the SISU Bookstore, and the SISU International Student Office, aimed to encourage environmental awareness and the joy of gardening among international students.

Thirteen students from seven countries participated in the event. They created their own miniature landscapes and hanging-plant mobiles under the guidance of teachers. The students said that they found the activity both interesting and meaningful, and that they are committed to learning more about plant care.
