Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Fudan University, which are considered to be two prestigious universities that are located in Shanghai, are on the rise in global university rankings.

Based on the Times Higher Education's World Reputation Rankings 2022, China has nine universities in the top 100. Shanghai Jiao Tong University jumped from 50th to 28th and Fudan University rose to 39th place.

According to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023, the two universities are among the seven universities from China that were ranked in the world's top 100.

Shanghai Jiao Tong University was also ranked in the top 100 in the 2022-2023 Best Global University Rankings, which was published by US News & World Report.
