Chamnantan Supakchon from Thailand is an undergraduate student majoring in Chinese language at the College of International Education of Shanghai University (SHU). During her four years at the university, she transformed from a shy girl into a China expert.

Born into a Chinese Thai family, Supakchon chose to study the Chinese language program in high school. Her excellence in Chinese earned her the opportunity to study at Guangxi Normal University through a Chinese language competition. In 2017, she participated in an international student summer camp in Beijing, marking her second visit to China. "I learned more about Chinese culture, tried Chinese calligraphy, enjoyed Peking opera performances, and explored projects such as 3D printing and VR technology. This not only deepened my understanding of the roots and essence of Chinese culture but also instilled in me the determination to pursue my undergraduate studies in China after graduating from high school."

After dedicating her studies to Chinese language and culture, she was admitted to SHU in 2020. With her enthusiasm for China and a diligent attitude toward learning, she won the Academic Excellence Award at SHU twice.

In addition to her studies, Supakchon actively engaged in volunteer work to help international students adapt to campus life. She also participated in public service activities, donating blood several times a year and assisting dormitory staff with waste sorting. Last year, she joined the "Sinology Classics Bilingual Communication" studio at the College of International Education. From struggling to comprehend ancient poetry to gradually learning to appreciate it, and ultimately being able to perform on stage, this journey significantly enhanced her language proficiency and communication skills, molding her into a China expert.

As she approaches graduation, Supakchon shared her good news – she has accepted a position with a Chinese new energy company and will work to help Chinese brands go global.
