ISU is Coming!
On October 11, 2026, the International Student Union (ISU) held its first full assembly of the new semester. Combining ice-breaking activities and skills training for ISU members, the event brought all members together, who officially embarked on the collaborative journey of the new semester through communication and learning.

At the start of the new semester, ISU members welcomed the first group of international freshmen at the check-in desk. During the four-day orientation event, ISU introduced the usage of the ISU mini-program and past ISU activities to the new students, and offered assistance for them to adapt to their new lives through face-to-face communication. Every packet of information and small gift handed out carries the warm welcome to the new members. Each greeting and conversation allows the stories with one another to unfold across the campus. ISU hopes to keep accompanying international students in the new semester and serve as a reliable support whenever they need it.

This year, ISU’s recruitment was conducted in two rounds. A total of 100 applications were received. ISU has had in-depth conversations with more than 70 students. Everyone comes from all over the world, bringing their own stories and expectations for ISU. Every interview has shown the diversity and excellence of new candidates. Making decisions is never easy, for every application carries profound trust. ISU sincerely hopes to live up to every student’s efforts, and let the stage serve as a starting point for all students to realize their potential and thrive alongside one another.

Sun Xiaoqian from the Office of International Education welcomes the new members. She affirmed everyone's enthusiasm for active participation and sincere dedication, and encouraged everyone to understand and support each other in the upcoming communication and collaboration, boldly try and grow together on the ISU platform. She also looked forward to the new members bringing more vitality and warmth to the international student community on campus.

The event kicked off with a relaxed welcome ice-breaking session. Amid laughter and cheerful chatter, all members got to know each other, closed the distance between one another.

This training began with an overview of the new 2026 ISU statutes, outlining the operational logic behind the organization’s daily activities, and provided an overview of the overall work priorities for this semester as well as preparations for the Cultural Festival. The Publicity and Media Department shared insights on visual design concepts, key photography techniques, and copywriting. Additionally, they conducted a hands-on training session on Xumi to help participants become familiar with the tool for formatting social media posts. The Secretariat provided practical demonstrations on commonly used tools such as Feishu, Wenjuanxing, and the ISU mini-program to help everyone efficiently handle daily administrative tasks.
