Badminton Friendship Match Brings Together Donghua University International Students
On the afternoon of June 3, Donghua University's international student badminton club wrapped up the semester with a friendly match. Players were paired randomly, putting students from different countries and skill levels on the same team. The competition then moved into group round-robin matches, with pairs battling it out on court. Participants came from countries like South Korea, Spain, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Russia, Japan, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and Mexico.

On the court, players quickly got focused. They delivered delicate net shots, powerful smashes from the backcourt, and desperate saves that drew applause from the crowd. The level of play on display reflected both the athletic spirit of the international students and the progress they had made through the semester's training sessions.

After more than three hours of intense competition, the pair of Wan Pengke from Thailand and Park Jiyu from South Korea took first place. The team of Cao Meng from Thailand and Fangsonglong from Laos finished second. Organizers awarded them medals, prizes, and certificates after the match.

Special thanks to the two referees:
Li Junyu (College of Fashion and Art Design)
Xing Jinyuan (Glorious Sun School of Business and Management)

At the end of the day, the winners and staff gathered on the court for a group photo to mark the occasion. Every match had its winner and loser, but what stood out was the friendship that grew among students from different countries.
The club's coordinators — Zheng Xiaozhi from Thailand, Quan Gezhen from South Korea, and Hu Shuizhu from Vietnam — along with coaches Wen Sirui and Fang Songlong from Laos, have won the hearts of club members.
With this match, the international student badminton club wrapped up a successful semester. The future looks bright.
