On the evening of April 3, 2026, a Qingming Festival-themed cultural event guided by International Students Office and jointly organized by the AYC Self-Management Committee and the Vietnamese Students Association was successfully held at the Canteen in North Campus.

Students from eleven countries, including China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Pakistan, New Zealand, Germany, and Belgium—over thirty in total—gathered together on a spring evening to experience the cultural traditions of Qingming Festival, savoring the beauty of the solar term and the joy of cross-cultural exchange.

Before the festivities kicked off, hosts representing the AYC Self-Management Committee and the Vietnamese Student Association shared the cultural stories behind Qingming. This briefing gave the diverse group of students a vivid look into the traditions, bridging the gap between local heritage and international perspectives.

The following cultural quiz session quickly energized the atmosphere. With questions centered on Qingming and spring-related traditions, students actively participated and engaged with one another, naturally breaking the ice and building connections through relaxed interaction.

The event then moved into its most anticipated segment—traditional food making. Under the guidance of canteen staff, students made qingtuan by hand, going through each step from kneading the dough to filling and shaping, experiencing the process behind this seasonal Chinese delicacy.

At the same time, Vietnamese students introduced the craft of making their signature fried spring rolls. The golden, crispy shells envelop a taste memory that transcends borders, while the rich tropical flavors break down language barriers. In the seamless flow between fingertips and taste buds, different cultures achieve a natural and heartwarming fusion.
