My academic journey at Donghua University (DHU) in Shanghai has been a highly meaningful experience that has contributed significantly to my academic training, cultural understanding, and personal development. Studying in Shanghai， one of China’s most international, innovative, and culturally rich cities has allowed me to gain valuable insights into China’s development, media landscape, and its growing role in global communication.

01 Academic Rigor and Global Insights

As a master’s student in Journalism and Communication, my research focuses on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and China Diplomacy, particularly from the perspective of international communication and global cooperation. Donghua University provides a rigorous and supportive academic environment, encouraging critical thinking and research excellence. Through active participation in academic conferences and seminars, I have strengthened my research abilities and deepened my understanding of China’s international engagement.

02 Building Bridges:My Role in DHU's International Community

Beyond academics, Donghua University offers a vibrant and inclusive campus culture. I am a full member of the Donghua University International Student Support Center and the DHU International Student Association, where I actively contributed to organizing cultural, educational, and intercultural exchange activities. These experiences allowed me to support fellow international students while promoting mutual understanding and friendship. In recognition of my contributions, I was honored with the Donghua University Excellent Social Work Award 2025.

03 Shaping Global Perspectives:Life and Learning

Campus life at DHU has also encouraged a balanced and healthy lifestyle. I actively participated in DHU sports activities, including Dragon boat Competition and football, which strengthened teamwork, perseverance, and a strong sense of university spirit. Living and studying in Shanghai, surrounded by students from diverse cultural backgrounds, further enriched my global perspective and intercultural communication skills.

Reflecting on my experience, Donghua University has played an essential role in shaping my academic vision, social responsibility, and international outlook. The university’s strong academic tradition, supportive faculty, and welcoming international environment have provided me with a solid foundation for future academic and professional development. I am deeply grateful for the opportunities offered by DHU and proud to be part of its international academic community.
