Tongji Students Engage in “Global Link for Youth Actions” Forum on Innovation and Emotional Consumption

On the morning of January 14, 2026, twenty international students from Tongji University, representing twelve nations including Germany, Morocco, and Colombia, took part in a forum exploring the nexus of emotional consumption and youth entrepreneurship. The event, titled "Global Link for Youth Actions: Emotional Consumption, Youth Innovation, and Entrepreneurship," was jointly organized by China Youth Daily and Global Link. The participation was facilitated by Tongji University's International Student Office, in cooperation with the University Youth League Committee and its College of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, as part of an effort to build bridges for global dialogue on innovation.

The forum focused on the theme of "Emotional Consumption." Five speakers from the United Kingdom, Romania, and China shared their entrepreneurial ventures in fields such as ceramic art therapy, environmental psychology, pet therapy, daily photo journaling, and rugby. Their initiatives transcended mere business models, emphasizing emotional value, tangible experiences, and genuine human connection. The sharing session provided participants with fresh perspectives, offering a deep dive into the diverse explorations of contemporary youth in innovation and entrepreneurship through varied cultural and professional lenses. It also fostered a richer understanding of global youth issues through authentic dialogue.

The representative from GLOBAL LINK also expressed a commitment to further strengthen future collaboration and exchange with Tongji University. This enhanced partnership aims to provide international students with more resources and guidance for their innovation and entrepreneurship endeavors.

The "Global Link for Youth Actions" is an international youth cooperation platform established under the framework of the "Global Youth Development Action Plan." It aims to bring together young entrepreneurs and innovative projects from around the world, connect diverse ecosystem partners, and jointly promote sustainable development.
