SUIS Students Excel at The 7th China Daily "Belt and Road" Youth English Speaking Competition - Global Finals

The global finals of the 7th China Daily "Belt and Road" Youth English Speaking Competition were successfully held in Hangzhou from November 15 to 17. A delegation of five international students from Shanghai University (SU) delivered outstanding performances at the event. Competing against 32 contestants from various universities across China in the international student category, the SU team distinguished itself, with the team securing one champion, two first prizes, and two second prizes.

First Prize: Anna Vilkova — Russia

First Prize: Jonaikham Enkhbaatar — Mongolia

Second Prize: Shaniah Halliday — Barbados

Second Prize: Ruvarashe Roselyn Togarepi — Zimbabwe
Behind this success was a carefully orchestrated campaign by Shanghai University. The process began with a campus-wide audition to select the five delegates, followed by the formation of a specialized faculty team for systematic training. This dedicated preparation was instrumental in their standout performance at the finals, showcasing the prowess of SU's international scholars.
