ECUST Students Selected for 2025 Lingang Seed Program, Dive into Future-City Vision
The third session of the 2025 Lingang "Seed Program" for international students was recently held, bringing together 30 participants from top universities like Fudan University and East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST). During the two-day event, they immersed themselves in the area's vibrant innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. Five students from ECUST's International Education School joined the cohort, experiencing firsthand the dynamic atmosphere and development potential of this "City of the Future."

A Deep Dive at Innovation's Ground Zero
The carefully curated itinerary took students to key innovation hubs, including the Dishuiyun Planning Center, the Digital Nomad Community, Lanwan Entrepreneurship Park, the Shanghai Astronomy Museum, and the Lingang Science and Technology Innovation Center. At Dishuiyun, models and digital displays vividly illustrated Lingang's master plan. Lanwan Park featured visits to vibrant "dopamine factories," including its life sciences and medical device centers. The Shanghai Astronomy Museum offered a journey through cosmic wonders, while the Lingang Sci-Tech Center provided close-up insights into the integrated circuit industry at companies like Zhongjing Xinyuan Semiconductor.

Straight Talk with Entrepreneurs
The event featured dedicated sessions where founders shared their entrepreneurial journeys. Luan, Founder of Shanghai Anu AI, urged students to "make decisions and stay alert to opportunities." Liu from Shanghai Qinkeruili Robotics shared his experience navigating the transition from corporate life to founder while outlining advances in robotics. Gao Haikui, CEO of Gongjia Information, highlighted Lingang's advantages in quality of life, business costs, and government support. These firsthand accounts provided students with invaluable real-world perspectives.

Policy & Dialogue: Building Your Startup Bridge
Officials from the Lingang Special Area Administration held a policy briefing, detailing one-stop services for international talent, from visas and residency to startup incubation. This was followed by the "My Future in Lingang" roundtable, where student teams pitched innovative proposals in a creative "idea showcase," stepping into the role of 'interim CEO.' Drawing on their diverse academic backgrounds, they presented ideas spanning cultural exchange, tech innovation, and youth entrepreneurship, demonstrating a uniquely global perspective and remarkable enthusiasm.

The participating students expressed that the event not only allowed them to experience Lingang's vibrant innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem but also helped them more clearly recognize the opportunities and pathways for development in China. Moving forward, the School will continue to support students in engaging in such practical exchange activities, empowering more international students to explore possibilities and realize their dreams in this hub of technological innovation.
