Fudan University introduces 61 AI courses for new semester
Fudan University has introduced 61 artificial intelligence (AI) courses for the new semester, open to all students.
These AI-BEST sequence courses cater to a variety of academic backgrounds and are divided into eight difficulty levels, suitable for both undergraduate and graduate students. Nearly 4,000 students selected their preferred AI courses on the first day.
Among them, one introductory course, "Approaching Artificial Intelligence" taught by Professor Huang Xuanjing, uses a digital avatar to demonstrate AI's capabilities. The course is designed for students with no AI background, focusing on basic concepts, key technologies, and practical applications without requiring direct coding or advanced math.
Professor Qiu Xipeng's "Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning" course has been updated with the latest AI advancements and practical training platforms. Interdisciplinary AI-S courses, like "AI Empowered Language Analysis and Language Acquisition" and "Artificial Intelligence and National Governance", integrate AI with fields such as linguistics and political science.
AI-T courses, like "AI Archaeology" and "Multiple-Scenario Applications of AI in Medical Imaging", focus on specific AI applications in social, economic, and industry contexts. These courses involve hands-on experience and collaboration with industry professionals.
