The 2024 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summer School Program opened at East China Normal University in Shanghai on July 15.

Hosted by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and organized by the Global Education Center of East China Normal University, the event welcomed 40 participants from SCO member countries and regions like Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

Huang Meixu, director of the Global Education Center, emphasized the program's role in fostering understanding, friendship, and cooperation among young scholars. She encouraged participants to engage in meaningful exchanges and build lasting international relationships during the program.

Anastasiia Mikhailiuk, a 2023 participant from St. Petersburg State University of Economics, sent her congratulations, sharing her enriching experiences from the previous year's program, including insights into China's history, culture, and modern achievements.

This marks the 13th year ECNU has hosted the event. Over the following four weeks, participants will immerse themselves in language and cultural courses, themed lectures, and speech contests, experiencing the depth of Chinese culture and the charm of Shanghai.
