Shanghai Ocean University hosts 6th International Cultural Festival

Shanghai Ocean University recently held its sixth International Cultural Festival and Chinese Language Day celebration, attracting a diverse crowd of visitors from various countries.

Shanghai Ocean University Vice President Jiang Min kicked off the festival with an inspiring speech, highlighting the importance of global changes and the role of youth in shaping the future. 

The festivities commenced with a burst of vibrant performances, including the song "Gulabi Aankhain" and captivating dances like the "Pakistan National Dance" and the "Cameroon National Dance."

The event also featured a series of traditional Chinese music pieces, "Jasmine Flower," and poetry recitations conveying heartfelt wishes from international students.

One of the highlights of the festival was the spectacular International Fashion Show. This show not only offered a diverse collection of handicrafts and a wide array of international cuisines prepared by talented students but also played a crucial role in promoting cultural understanding. Traditional games from around the world further brought students closer to different cultures, fostering a sense of global unity.

With 18 exhibition booths representing 25 countries and regions, the festival offered a wide variety of handicrafts and provided a platform for cultural exchange and mutual understanding. Students from various parts of the world showcased their culinary skills, offering flavorful delicacies that attracted the tastebuds of many attendees eager to sample international cuisines.

The Shanghai Ocean University has successfully hosted six editions of the International Cultural Festival, establishing itself as a hallmark cultural event for international students on campus. Through this event, Shanghai Ocean University continues to showcase its commitment to embracing diversity and promoting cross-cultural dialogue.
