ShanghaiRanking, an independent organization dedicated to research on higher education intelligence and consultation, has officially released its 2024 ShanghaiRanking Chinese University Rankings.

The rankings encompass over 1,000 undergraduate-level universities in China. To accurately reflect the differences in the nature and types of universities and ensure fairness, ShanghaiRanking divides universities into comprehensive categories, seven types of single-subject universities, and four types of non-public universities, using a differentiated indicator system to rank them separately.

Two universities from Shanghai have secured positions in the top five of the overall best Chinese universities. Shanghai Jiao Tong University holds the fourth position, while Fudan University follows in fifth place.

Among the 14 universities listed in the 2024 Chinese Sports University Ranking, the Shanghai University of Sport, Beijing Sport University, and the Capital Institute of Physical Education and Sports secured the top three positions, showcasing their excellence in sports education.

Another notable achievement comes from the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, which leads the single-subject ranking in the category of Chinese financial and economic universities.
