International students from East China Normal University's Intensive & Business Chinese Program recently visited the Hotelex Shanghai 2024, the largest exhibition in Asia's hospitality industry, at the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai).

The event featured over 300 renowned brands across more than 100 mainstream segments, such as coffee, baking, and catering equipment, offering students a firsthand look at the latest industry trends.

During the expo, the students engaged in activities such as sampling, inspecting, and interviewing, in order to gather insights for potential business ventures. Upon returning to the classroom, they eagerly shared their experiences and business plans, which ranged from the idea of starting a campus tea cafe to proposing the establishment of an upscale hotel.

According to the organizer, this social practice activity had several benefits for the students. It not only extended their learning beyond the classroom but also provided them a chance to experience China's thriving business environment. This experience helped them improve their language skills and gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture. The excursion also ignited their entrepreneurial spirit and equipped them with invaluable insights into the dynamic world of business, setting the stage for their future endeavors in commerce and innovation.
