A group of foreign students from Tongji University recently visited the Shanghai Lu Xun Museum to learn about Lu Xun, a famous Chinese writer, philosopher and revolutionary.

Two of the students who come from Japan, Shimogaki Uchi Xunyuki and Shimazaki Nanaji, said that they had read Lu's "Hometown" in their elementary school textbooks in Japan.

Lu once studied in Japan, and he played an extremely important role in shaping Japanese ideology and culture. Uchiyuki was very interested in everything about Lu. In the museum, he carefully watched the contents of each display case and read the commentary, hoping to learn more about Lu's story. "I was deeply impressed by Lu's ideas, which I believe promoted the development of Chinese society at that time," he said.

Relief works on the museum's wall gave the students a preliminary understanding of the social situation during Lu's time, and helped them understand why Lu chose to abandon medicine and literature and devote himself to the ideological revolution.

They also discussed Lu's famous sayings and had a better understanding of his thoughts.

When seeing Lu's manuscript in the display case, a student from Tajikistan marveled at Lu's talent. He said, "As a student, I sometimes have no idea how to create a good PPT, but Lu can write so many words and leave so many books, which is really amazing! I would like to understand how Lu studied and why his thoughts are so profound."

A student from Thailand said, "I have great respect for Lu. His heart and his thoughts are for the development of the country. Now, China is developing and becoming more open. I feel very happy to be able to study in China."
