New faculty, new horizons at NYU Shanghai
This fall semester, New York University Shanghai (NYU Shanghai) is introducing 20 new faculty members from nine countries, expanding its faculty body to 273 people from 32 countries. Covering 11 disciplines, including computer science and mathematics, these educators embody NYU Shanghai's commitment to a diverse, multidisciplinary academic environment.
Research excellence is a cornerstone of NYU Shanghai. Professor Sterling Huang, an expert in accounting, brings a wealth of experience from Singapore Management University. His work on corporate governance has garnered widespread recognition. Similarly, Assistant Professor Qian Jing, a political science scholar from Princeton University, focuses on China's global economic influence and is drawn to NYU Shanghai's interdisciplinary ethos.
The faculty also includes innovative minds like Assistant Professor Helena Hang Rong, exploring blockchain applications in urban governance. Meanwhile, Clinical Associate Professor Jana Fedtke, specializing in transnational literature, delves into AI's impact on writing practices, aiming to enhance students' AI literacy.
