The 2024 Shanghai Book Fair, the city's largest literary event, commenced at the Shanghai Exhibition Center on Aug 14 and will run until Aug 20. This year marks the 20th edition of the annual festival, attracting readers and book industry professionals alike.

Over 30,000 book titles are being showcased, complemented by more than 1,000 activities over the course of the fair, including book launches, author lectures, and the Shanghai International Literary Week. An additional highlight is an international exhibition of art and design books at the nearby Shanghai Center, featuring over 1,000 premium books, from museum collections to works by Western artists and lifestyle books.

Publishers have brought a wide array of offerings to the fair. Shanghai Jiao Tong University Press is presenting nearly 800 books, including academic works, high-quality literature, popular science, medical publications, and educational aids. They are also hosting an array of engaging activities and guest dialogues.

Shanghai University Press is offering around 500 books and 10 events, aiming to create a diverse reading experience. Their selection spans humanities, local culture, aesthetics, art, and medical sciences. The press has organized reading sessions and book signings with notable figures from various fields.
